PROBLEM 1 - CONTENT AVAILABLE
I am located in New Zealand and have tried out MUBI to see what is available. After performing multiple searches for various titles I have come to the opinion that there is probably only 5% or less of movies available via MUBI. In the FAQ information that is available there is little in terms of good information on what the expectation is for various countries in terms of movie availability. When logged into the website it comes up with messages that this movie is not available and that good things come to those that wait. It has once again no useful information about how long the wait will be an I expect it could be years.
PROBLEM 2
I work in IT and I now that my ADSL link can provide 3.5Mbps download speed. The best I seem to be able to get from MUBI during NZ nighttime is about 0.4-0.5Mbps. Early in the morning it gets up to 0.9Mbps but this is still too slow to be useable.
CONCLUSION
There is little useful information on the MUBI website about what percentange of titles are available in each country or in what category they are in. On has to go into the forums and troll thru to find any sort of explanation which is still vague. Just a simple indicator would be nice to have (a percentage of all titles in the world). The message about the video not being available is far to vague to be of any use. The user has no idea whether the wait is anything from 1 day to infinity.
It would seem to me that the internet download speed is limited by bandwidth at the MUBI end.
