Dear MUBI Team
First I wanna say how much I love your selection of hard-to-find titles, indie productions and cinema classics. I wish i could watch all 11k movies, but I understand how hard the whole licensing process is in europe.
Now for the problems I have with your service.
The PS3 interface, while aesthetically pleasing, is a clunky and slow. Furthermore I always get disconnected from MUBI and have to restart the whole app after watching a movie. Both things ain't that much trouble but still very annoying.
Language options and subtitle selection. Now thats something I really dislike about your service: I set my PS3 to english, I set my MUBI account to english. Reservoir Dogs is only avaible in german with german subs. Does this mean you don't have the rights for the english audio channel/subs? Then there are movies like "Pan's Labyrinth" that only streams in spanish with french (?!) subs. I speak neither language making the movie unwatchable for me. Thats a really sad state of affairs. Could this be due to my location (switzerland)?
Video quality: Now don't get me wrong, I do not expect 1080p streams with 7.1 audio, but most of your movies are not even DVD quality (I am talking about bigger releases here, not indy productions or art films).
Stream performance: I am not sure if this is a problem with the PS3 client or your service in general. Loading times are not so bad, having to wait another 10-15 seconds every time you skip forward/backward is. I am on a 50Mbit/sec cable connection and your service is the only one producing this issues.
It has not lagged while watching a movie to this day, so thats a plus.
Also, how can I reset a movie in the PS3 client. When I stop a movie while watching and come back to it later, there is no option to start from the beginning of the movie. Due to the issues above, rewinding manually isn't an option (also: Rewinding digital media as if it would be tape? Seriously?)
Another big issue: watching your stuff mobile. I use an android tab running jelly bean. No chance to watch MUBI on the go without doin some sideloading/installing of obsolete software.
Another not so big issue: It really sucks when there is a movie on the main-feature page (PS3) that is not avaible at my location.
Again, I really enjoy your selection of movies and the general idea behind this service. Sadly, I cannot justify paying for it in its current state. Maybe I got something wrong? I would be glad if some of this issues are just missunderstandings/idiocy on my part. Because I really want to love your service.
